VEIN//MIRROR

VEIN//MIRROR is a five-member American-Italian collective built around contradiction: flesh and reflection, intimacy and monumentality, beauty and violence.

At its centre stands American vocalist Elias Rook, whose intense presence gives the group its human focal point.

Mara Voss provides the group’s European fracture. Her analogue synthesizers and atmospheric constructions frequently operate against the physical brutality of the American rhythm section, creating one of VEIN//MIRROR’s defining tensions.

Their music combines distorted guitars, dense electronic structures, ritualistic percussion, industrial textures and vast atmospheric spaces.

Songs frequently feel architectural.

They open rooms.

They construct corridors.

They place the listener somewhere uncomfortable and gradually begin removing the exits.

The mirror of VEIN//MIRROR is not a symbol of vanity.

It is an instrument of doubt.

Reflection duplicates, alters and occasionally reveals things the original would prefer to conceal. Identity, memory and perception therefore remain recurring themes throughout the group’s work.

Their visual universe follows the same principles: fractured metallic structures, monumental architecture, black surfaces, red illumination and human bodies that occasionally appear small against the environments surrounding them.

Yet despite its severity, VEIN//MIRROR remains profoundly emotional.

The machinery exists because there is something human trapped inside it.
