Nosfera Disco Club

Nosfera Disco Club began when a creature from Transylvania met something made in China.

The creature was Nosfera Vox.

The other thing was Chromabone.

Together they became the founding members and creative nucleus of Nosfera Disco Club.

Chromabone is not simply associated with the group. He is the musical mind behind much of its sound, architect of the rhythms, electronic structures and nocturnal machinery upon which Nosfera Vox builds his decadent mythology.

The result is disco after death.

Funk basslines, nocturnal electronics, gothic theatricality, mutant club music and unapologetic excess coexist inside a universe populated by vampires, skeletal elegance, cathedral-sized nightclubs, infernal lighting and disco balls treated with approximately the same reverence normally reserved for religious artefacts.

Nosfera Vox acts simultaneously as singer, host, preacher and deeply unreliable guide.

His Transylvanian origins are never treated as metaphor.

They are simply part of the story.

Chromabone brings something different: mechanical discipline, underground club knowledge and a slightly disturbing capacity to make dead things move again.

That combination gives Nosfera Disco Club its fundamental contradiction.

The imagery may suggest horror.

The rhythm section suggests dancing.

The group understands that darkness becomes significantly more interesting when it has a bassline.

Humour is equally essential. Nosfera Disco Club knows exactly how ridiculous eternal decadence can become and embraces it completely.

The night may be sacred.

The night may be cursed.

More importantly, the night has excellent sound.
